TableToSpreadsheet takes a Knack table and turns it into an excel like table. Allowing features such as double clicking a column to sort alphabetically, sorting records faster, searching without breaking anything, scrolling through all your objects records, an undo/redo feature, hiding columns, and mass editing.
TableToSpreadsheet Overview
At first glance, this plugin should look very familiar. It’s basically Excel in your browser. Say goodbye to the aches and pains of the Knack default table. TableToSpreadsheet will provide your users with the experience they’ve been asking for.
In the upper-left corner of the TableToSpreadsheet module, you’ll find a menu of buttons. Including but not limited to undo, redo, export, refresh, and submit. These buttons offer a variety of features, here’s what you’ll be able to do with them:
One of the biggest pain points for our end-users was needing to search for records with special characters. It’s a bit of a shame how simplistic the default Knack search field can be. In just a few seconds TableToSpreadsheet will search through and filter your entire Knack table.
We’ve also built-in sorting functionality that makes sense. To sort your table, just double click on the column headers and have your records sorted correctly. Numerically, or Alphabetically.
All of your Knack Table’s columns can be rearranged in any order with a simple click or drag. Each user can manually and independently set a column width that can be adjusted or hidden.
The TableToSpreadsheet plugin has similar functionality to an excel table, where your users can click and drag records to copy them. Perfect for the veteran Excel user.
Need to add or delete records? It’s as easy as a right-click to quickly add new items to your database. No more form submission processing. Or waiting for Knack to handle the data requests.
As far as displaying your data. A Knack table will typically display a maximum of 1000 records. TableToSpreadsheet will handle more than a thousand of your records with ease, without needing to re-render the view and wait for your records to load.
